Ballarat Surgical Clinic is a private surgical practice that was established in 1959.We have 3 surgeons working at this practice. Between our surgeons we can offer you care for all of your General Surgical needs.The surgeons in our clinic have always been at the forefront of surgical care in Ballarat.

Passion

Our surgeons provide after hour emergency cover and may be contacted through the Emergency Departments of St John of God Hospital and Ballarat Health Services Base Hospital. We have a fully equipped procedure room staffed with a Registered Nurse where our surgeons can perform minor surgery. We provide a carpark for the convenience of our patients. FAQs

1Do I need a referral?
Yes, a referral is required from a medical practitioner.
2What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a copy of your referral, an up-to-date medication and allergy list. Your medicare card, health fund card and details as well as any concession cards.
3Do I need Private Health Insurance?
No. We have direct access to public free of charge lists at Ararat and Maryborough hospitals that can provide day procedures and overnight stay procedures to anaesthetically appropriate patients. We also offer the possibility of “private to pay surgery”. This means we will provide you with an estimate of costs after your consultation has occurred. However as a private Surgical Practice, it is preferred that our patients are privately insured and we would encourage you to be aware of your level of cover, if you have exclusions, waiting periods or any excess to pay. Please check with your fund before your appointment.
4Do you bulk bill?
No. This is a private Surgical Practice, therefore there are costs involved. Our fee structure will be available to you once an appointment is made.
