Description
All aspects of vascular surgical disease are attended to at Ballarat Surgical Clinic. There is an in house vascular ultrasound service every Thursday afternoon and consultations can be arranged to coincide with this. Conditions such as abdominal and iliac artery aneurysms, peripheral vascular disease (claudication, infection and ulceration) and issues related to carotid arteries can be dealt with. Angiography, angioplasty (balloon dilatation) and stenting of arteries as well as other endo-luminal techniques can be offered. Both open and endo-luminal treatment of aortic aneurysms is able to be offered. As well, a range of dialysis access procedures are performed including central vein catheters and arteriovenous fistula formation as appropriate. Finally the full range of varicose vein interventions are offered including the ultrasound service mentioned as well as sclerotherapy and more invasive procedures such as endovascular laser ablation and varicose vein surgery.
